61 bovine animals rescued, 4 held

JAMMU, Feb 1: Banihal police today seized five trucks, arrested four bovine smugglers and rescued 61 bovines from their possession, which were being smuggled from Jammu to Srinagar.
The bovine smugglers have been identified as Ravi Kumar of Khour, Shabir Ahmad of Batote, Mohammad Anwar of Bazipura, Anantnag and Abdul Rashid Dar of Banihal.
The trucks bearing registration Nos. 4464 JK02AE, 5095 JK02AH, 1255 JK02AH, 5419 JK14A and 1487 JK02AF.
A total of 61 bovine animals were rescued from the trucks, police said.
A case has been registered against the bovine smugglers at Banihal police station.
Police parties under the supervision of SSP Ramban Anil Magotra made the arrests and recoveries of bovine animals.
