Mir inspects pesticide manufacturing company

JAMMU, Feb 1: With a view to ensure quality pesticides products to the farmers, Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today asked Sarswati Agro Chemicals (India) Pvt Ltd to setup Analysis and Research Centres in the State.
The Minister passed these directions during the inspection of pesticide manufacturing company at Bari Brahmana this morning. He said, “our main objective should be to address the concerns of farmers and they must be satisfied with the quality products which they use”, adding “this factor should be the motto of the companies dealing with the pesticides, insecticides and herbicides”.
Director Law Enforcement, M S Katoo, Chief Agriculture Officer Samba, R K Sharma and other senior officers of Agriculture and Law Enforcement accompanied with the Minister.
The Minister went round all the units of the company and was briefed about the functioning and management. He was apprised about the detailed functioning of world class manufacturing facility and equipment installed with high quality labs and qualified staff.
Mr Mir emphasized on all the manufacturing units for maintaining the quality standards while manufacturing such pesticides for the benefit of the farming community and also stressed to adhere pollution norms as laid by the respective authorities.
Later, the Minister also inspected Sarswati Plasto Tech which manufactures Polycarbonate Sheets for energy efficiency use. The Polycarbonate sheet is being used in green houses in Agriculture, Horticulture and Floriculture sectors.
