AIBCU reacts on General Category quota

JAMMU, Jan 9: The General Category (GC) people in J&K are already symphonizing 80% job quota while category like SC (8%), ST (10%) and OSC (2%) are getting only 20% in total.
This was stated today by office bearers of AIBCU while reacting to a bill for quota to General Category people in J&K, which is awaiting Government’s nod for last about 11 months.
They said Centre Government’s move over General Category quota @ 10% will be in addition to 49.5% quota meant for OBCs, SCs and STs whereas in J&K state, validity and applicability is only possible if RBA @ 20% and ALC @ 3% are removed and the due quota of 27% is set for those who are called Other Social Castes in J&K state instead of OBCs (as are called throughout the country and in all the states).
“So, in view of 10% quota for General Category in J&K State, reservation digits in favour of OSCs have to be corrected first and then there is no harm to anybody if 27% quota is upheld for the Other Social Castes in the state,” the office bearers of AIBCU said in their executive meeting.
They said Sajjad Gani Lone, Chairman of Peoples Conference during his tenure as Social Welfare Minister, never did any justice for the State OSCs but ruined State Backward Classes Commission by diluting its entity and never gave time to OSCs for even a deputation meet which proves his being antagonistic towards the State OSCs, besides Chairman appointed by him in the Commission.
