Awareness Prog on ‘Importance of Urdu’ held

JAMMU, Feb 2: BN College of Education organized an awareness programme on “Importance of Urdu in J&K and its present condition”, in which BEd students participated actively and expressed their views.
On the occasion, Farooq Shah Bukhari, Chairman, Tehreek Baga-e-Urdu was the chief guest, while Prof Quldus Javaid from Banaras University was the guest of honour.
While speaking, Chairman of the College Abdul Gani Kohli highlighted the importance of the Urdu language.
Rabia bagged first position, while the second and third positions were conferred to Mehnaz Raiz and Zubair Ahmed.
Earlier, Dr Manju Dwivedi president the welcome address, while at the end Prof Gharo Choudhary presented vote of thanks.
Among others present were Irfan Arif, president, TBU, Jawaid Anwar, senior vice president, Zakir Malik Balashi, general secretary and staff members.
