JAMMU, Jan 11: Former Deputy Chief Minister & senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta today said the initiatives being undertaken in Education Sector would ensure that children studying in Government schools are provided with quality avenues, so that they can contribute in the development of the State and the country.
Addressing a function organized in connection in laying of foundation of additional classrooms in Government Middle School (GMS), Karyani Talab, Narwal in Gandhi Nagar Constituency Gupta said the works have been sanctioned under RMSA/SSA at an estimated cost of Rs 5.4 lakh. In Gandhi Nagar Constituency more than 60 rooms have been constructed under this scheme and 22 more such additional class rooms have been sanctioned for different schools.
Kavinder Gupta said that Government has initiated multiple efforts for augmentation of school infrastructure adding that proper infra is essential to ensure students, get maximum opportunity to learn. He said that special attention is being paid to systematically introducing newer technologies in education in Government schools to make education, learning process simpler for students. “Onus lies on us to provide students with quality facilities in education and sports so that they can bring laurels to the country and the State”, he added.
“The Government is committed to improve standards of education in the State. In order to achieve this objective, the Government has launched various educational schemes and scholarship programmes for welfare of talented youth”, he said. Gupta enjoined upon the teachers to lay stress on practical as well as theoretical aspect of learning besides developing an inquisitive attitude among the students. He asked the school authorities to make arrangements for special classes for students to enhance their general knowledge.
He also asked the school authorities to ensure that clean and hygienic surroundings are maintained in and around the school premises. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were, Vinay Gupta, Sarpanch Sabia Choudhary; Panch Arifa Bano; Meeran Sharma I/C Headmaster, Bilquees Majeed, Amit Sharma and Sunny Sangotra.
Meanwhile Gupta congratulated the people of the state on getting the Union Cabinet approval to two AIIMS in the State. He said vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is really appreciable for the overall growth in each sector of the State.
