PHE employees hold rally

UDHAMPUR, Feb 2: Water Works (PHE) Employees Association held a massive rally at Udhampur in which the employees complimented the Minister of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma for issuing the transfer orders.
The rally was led by Som Nath district president INTUC and vice president Water Works and PHE Employees Association.
A delegation of the Association also called on Minister later and submitted a charter of demands to him highlighting their various problems and seeking their immediate redressal.
Those who accompanied the delegation included Vijay Kumar, Suraj Parkash, Jagdish Magotra and Desh Kesar.
The memorandum demanded release of PHE employees wages which they have not been paid for last 13 months and as a result of which their miseries have increased many fold. It also demanded holding of DPC for ordering promotions of the employees, appointment of new employees under CSS to run the PHE schemes and projects, providing the benefit of SRO 64 and regularization of employees working as consolidated/ community participation since 15 years, engagement of impreset estimates’ workers and land donors in the Department and enhancement of wages from Rs 125 to Rs 300 per day in view of sky rocketing prices of essential commodities.
