SAMBA, Jan 12: The irate border villagers in Vijaypur area today protested against the lack of transport facilities in their area from Vijapypur after 5 pm.
The protestors raised slogans against the Transport authorities and held them responsible for their problem. They said no transport facility is available to the area after 5 pm with the result the students, Government employees, factory workers and other commuters are put to problems and they have to travel a huge distance on foot.
They said that though the issue was brought in the notice of the concerned authorities number of times but to no avail as they failed to prevail upon the transporters to continue service to the border belt in late evening hours.
They said today people were waiting for the three wheelers and four wheelers from 6-00pm and upto 8 pm no vehicle came to lift them as the concerned authorities have not taken pains in regulating the transport facilities to border belt.
Manohar Singh one of the protestors said that people of 30 border villages from Vijaypur to Pangloor Camp are affected due to non availability of transport facilities which forced them to launch protest today.
They warned that in case the problem was not solved immediately the entire border belt will launch agitation against the Transport Department’s apathy towards them.
