Jammu, Jan 14: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) held a meeting with the startups registered with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Government of India here at its Bari-Brahmna campus.
The meeting was part of the Institute’s ongoing endeavors to promote innovation-based Startups in the State of Jammu and Kashmir under the recently launched J&K Start-up Policy-2018.
The meeting was attended by Dr. M.I Parray, Director JKEDI, Tufail Mattoo, Executive Director JKEDI and the representatives of the startups.
The meeting was conducted to provide a detailed insight about the recently introduced J&K Startup Policy and the incentives and benefits available to the registered Startups under the policy.
A threadbare discussion was held with respect to various aspects of the Startup Policy which include incubation facilities, assistance for product research and development/ marketing/ publicity, funding facilities, energy assistance, tax benefits as well as infrastructure support offered to the Start-ups.
During the meeting it was resolved that there is an urgent need to have Gap-Analysis of the existing system and an effective action-plan should be in place to achieve the objective of the policy in a time bound manner.
JKEDI has been designated as a State Nodal Agency for the implementation of the J&K Startup Policy-2018 which was rolled out on September 13, 2018 by the Government of J&K.
