JAMMU, Jan 14: In a joint operation, teams from Bakshi Nagar Police Station and Police Post GMC apprehended two drug peddlers and recovered around 550 grams cannabis from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, teams from Bakshi Nagar Police Station and Police Post GMC laid a naka and intercepted two persons, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered around 550 grams of cannabis from their possession and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Aijaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid Wani and Riyaz Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed Lone, both residents of District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 7/19 under section 80/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Naresh Sharma and Incharge Police Post GMC SI Thakur Dass made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Sheema Nabi Qasba, SP City Amritpal Singh and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
