SRINAGAR, Feb 3: Work at the Government Press, Srinagar is all set to suffer badly as the employees of the Press are going on a two day pen down strike from Monday against the proposed Government decision of shifting Press and Srinagar to Sempora in Pulwama district.
Government Press Employees Association (GPEA) through its President, Syed Mohammad Muzamil Razvi has asked the employees of the Press to observe pen down strike on February 4 and 5 (Monday and Tuesday) against the Government decision.
“Most of the Government Departments get their work of printing and publishing done from Government Press, Srinagar. Once we shift the Press from Srinagar to Pulwama district it would not be feasible for the departments to get their work done from Government Press, instead they would visit any private printing press for this purpose,” said Muzamil while talking to Excelsior.
He asked the State Government not to shift Government Press, Srinagar from its present location, adding that this would settle the nerves of the employees of the Press.
