JAMMU, May 6: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation  Raman Bhalla today said that the Government has prepared a comprehensive plan to revive overall profile of the State by constructing latest  infrastructure facilities in every nook and corner of the State.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a gathering  at Bahu Fort after dedicating Rs. 35 lakh multipurpose community hall to the people of the area, here today.
Mr. Bhalla said 30×60 feet multipurpose community hall has been completed with the facilities of kitchen, store-room and toilet block at an estimated cost of Rs. 35 lakh. He said with the dedication of this hall, the poor lot of the area would be able to arrange their religious as well as social functions   on nominal fee. He called upon the people to protect public properties in their respective areas which are meant for their use.
The Minister said Government has sanctioned Rs. 7 crore for construction of multipurpose community halls in the poor   basties of his home constituency, adding that out of which Rs. 5.5 crore halls have already been dedicated to the Govindpura Kullian, Barazalla, Channi Rama, Nai Basti, Babliana, Gangyal, Bahu Fort, Shanker Colony and Ambedkar Nagar people.
Responding to the demand of locals, Mr. Bhalla said the Government has earmarked Rs. 75 lakh for construction of stadium near Government Higher Secondary School, Bahu Fort, adding that work on the project is going on war-footing and would be completed within stipulated time frame.
Later, the Minister handed over keys of the hall to the President of Shri Ravi Dass Sabha, Mulak Raj in presence of locals of the area.
Earlier, Mr. Bhalla also dedicated Rajiv Gandhi Park to the people of Gangyal. The recreational park has been developed at a cost of Rs. 14.75 lakh with illumination, seating, irrigation, drinking water, walkway and landscaping.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister said Government is committed to beautify the surroundings of the Gangyal and Babliana areas, adding that the spot is emerging as hub of tourists and pilgrims. He said Government has taken several innovative measures for improving the living standard of the people especially those residing in poor basties of the State.
Regarding upgradation of power infrastructure in Babliana and Gangyal villages, Mr. Bhalla said Government has upgraded 6.3 MVA receiving station up to 10 MVA. He said with the upgradation of receiving station, the power supply of Digiana, Jeevan Nagar, Ajeet Nagar, Gangyal has been improved. He said Government has approved Rs. 6 crore for modernization including mecademisation of Babliana-Gangyal link road and internal links of the localities, the blacktopping work could be started by next week.
