Citizenship Rights

Sir,
The decision taken by this Union Government with regard to granting citizenship rights to immigrants is more than welcome.. These are people who migrated from Pakistan, Bangladesh and from Afghanistan and sought refuge in India. It is a known fact that their perpetual persecution in the native countries has led to their migration. India is a big democratic country in the world were every citizen enjoys his rights equally, having no bar of caste, creed or colour. In India, minorities thrive in every field as stands evident by the population index since 1947. The picture is opposite in the countries mentioned above. The minorities population ratio has been decreasing largely since 1947 in these countries and this is an eye opener fact for those who raise their finger against the Indian tolerance. India stands safe haven since times immemorial for the immigrants. This is a human problem that was handy for solution. The Indian Lok Sabha has passed the bill by majority vote and has been sent to Rajya Sabha for proceedings. I am of the opinion that Rajya Sabha will pass it in the same manner and spirit as was done in Lok Sabha. Only India can safeguard their interests which is abode for non-violence and co-existence. Their feelings correspond as ours in letter and spirit for the country’s integrity and sovereignty.
