REASI, Jan 18: In its continued drive against drug peddlers, Reasi Police today nabbed a notorious smuggler of narcotics.
1.5 Kg of poppy straw (Bhukki ), two number of challis (Charas like substance), weighing approximately 50 gms, were seized from the possession of arrested smuggler, identified as Mohd Arif, son of Sain Mohd of Seela.
He was already booked in various cases related to NDPS Act at P/S Katra , vide FIR No. 193/17 U/S 8/15 NDPS ACT and P/S Bag-e- Bahu vide FIR No. 21/16 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act.
The accused was intercepted during a special Naka at IRP Chowk, Reasi, when he was coming from Seela and carrying a bag in his hand. Noticing the police party, he tried to conceal his presence and made a bid to escape from the spot but was caught by the alert Policemen
In this connection a case FIR number 8/2019 U/S 8/15/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi for further investigation. The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of DySP Headquarter Reasi, Dr Nikhil Gogna.
