JAMMU, Jan 19: A delegation of Sarpanchs from Turtuk (Nobra) area led by Ghulam Hussain, Social Activist, met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The delegation projected a charter of demands which include financial package for the overall development of Turtuk area, opening of Turtuk- Khapulu road across border, construction of Turtuk-Hanu road, carving out of an Assembly seat for Turtuk area, opening of Degree College in Turtuk, authorization of ALC certificate to people living in Turtuk area, up-gradation of Primary Health Centre and Government Middle School, Bogdang, sanctioning of block status to Bogdang and sanctioning of Girls Higher Secondary School for village Bogdang.
Governor observed that the demands would be looked into and due consideration would be given for their early redressal.
Mohammad Salman, Sarpanch Turtuk Farool; Inayatullah, Sarpanch Turtuk Youl; Mohammad Mossa, Sarpanch Bogdang; Mohammad Ibraham, Chairman, Tyakshi Nobra; Abdul Qadir President Bolti Student Association, Ladakh were the part of the delegation.
A delegation of Ladakh Muslim Coordination Committee Leh led by Dr. Abdul Qayoom, President, Anjuman-e-Moinul Islam Leh, also met Governor and projected a charter of demands to Governor which include delimitation/re-organization of seats of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh, reservation of MLC seats in Leh and Kargil districts for the respective minorities, and allotment of suitable land for graveyard at Jammu for the inhabitants of Leh.
Governor observed that their demands would be looked into and due consideration would be given for their early redressal.
A delegation of Corporators of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) led by Sheikh Mohammad Imran, Deputy Mayor, SMC apprised Governor about various developmental issues relating to Srinagar Municipal Corporation and brought into his notice some issues of public importance for redressal . The delegation also demanded accommodation and security to Corporators, enhancement of monthly honourarium of Corporators, development of Dal Lake river front, and ban on ‘PUBG’ game in cyber cafe in Srinagar city.
Governor assured the delegation that their demands would be looked into and due consideration would be given for their early redressal.
A delegation of Sarpanchs from Paddar area of Kishtwar District led by Sunil Sharma, former Minister and Ex-MLA, expressed their gratitude to Governor for sanctioning of Degree College and deployment of doctors in the health institutions of the area. The delegation projected a charter of demands which include release of payments pending under MGNREGA, construction of Panchayat Ghars, deployment of teachers in educational institutions of the area, sanctioning of solar lights, according sanction to the posts for the newly sanctioned local Sub District Hospital, upgradation of local High School and taking up into hand some projects under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) in the area.
Assuring the delegation for giving due consideration to their demands for their early redressal, Governor also urged Sunil Sharma to continue his endeavours for promoting public welfare and development of his area.
A delegation of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ), led by its President Dr. Vikas Sharma requested for early completion of selection process of already advertised posts of faculty and administrative positions, sanctioning of new faculties for SKUAST-J, implementation of Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) in SKUAST-J, removal of adhocism on statutory positions of the University as per rules, early filling up of teaching and non-teaching vacant posts in SKUAST-J and revival of Sericulture Division in SKUAST-J.
Governor, who is the Chancellor of the SKUAST-J, observed that these issues would be reviewed and appropriate action would be taken for their redressal.

A delegation from Kargil district led by Vikram Randhawa MLC projected a charter of demands which include Divisional Status to Ladakh; retendering of Zoji La tunnel; early completion of Kargil Airport expansion and introduction of Civil Air Service; establishment of Central University with its administrative unit at Kargil; early completion of Darcha- Padum- Kargil road for Amarnath ji Yatris as alternative route; up-gradation of Government High Schools, Choskore, Sangrah, Lunkar Grong, and Shikar Chiktan; Government High and Middle Schools, Apati Soudh, and Government Middle Schools Archoo, Thangso, Holiyal, and Kanoor; declaration of Model apricot village in Kargil and construction of Panikhar-Kishtwar road.
Assuring the delegation for giving due consideration to their demands for their early redressal, Governor urged Sh. Vikram Randhawa to continue his endeavours for promoting public welfare.
A delegation of J&K Sikh Youth organization led by its Chairman Amanjeet Singh projected some issues particularly pertaining to Sikh Community. The delegation demanded early installation of statue of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur at Kunjwani Chowk; developing Hockey Stadium at Gole Gujral; implementation of decision in letter and spirit with regard to development of Gole Gujral as Model Village; introduction of Punjabi language in schools; provision of security to Sarpanchs and Panchs elected in Kashmir Division, and proper representation of Sikh Community in decision making bodies.
Governor assured the delegation that due consideration would be given to the demands for their early redressal.
G. M. Saroori, former Minister and ex-MLA apprised Governor about the developmental scenario of Inderwal Constituency. Sh. Saroori requested Governor for opening of Degree College at Kahara Malanoo and Bunjanwa, construction of Manoi- Gugara road under Central Road Fund (CRF), and sanctioning of PWD special Sub Division for Thatri.
Governor urged Saroori to continue his endeavours for promoting public welfare and development of Inderwal Constituency.
