UDHAMPUR, Jan 19: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 10 animals even as the accused driver managed to flee leaving the truck, which was intercepted at Tikri.
Based on reliable information, a Police party led by SHO Rehambal, Inspector Paramjeet Singh , assisted by SI Pawan Dogra under the supervision of Zahid Saif Wani, DYSP Hqrs Udhampur, had laid naka at Manthal,Tikri .
Driver of the truck, bearing registration number JK13B- 2210, abandoned the vehicle on roadside and fled away from the spot by taking advantage of darkness.
During checking, 10 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. All the bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection a case FIR number 12/2019 U/S 188 RPC 3PCA Act has been registered at PS Rehambal and further investigation is going on.
