Plus 2 lecturers discusses prevailing scenario in Education Department

JAMMU, Feb 4: Plus 2 Lecturers Forum in its monthly meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of N S Jamwal its president discussed the prevailing scenario in the Education Department.
Mr Jamwal apprised the members about the recent meeting with Director School Education Jammu held last week. He said that the delegation urged her to fill up the vacant posts of masters and lecturers at earliest so that the results of the secondary and higher secondary level will improve. The hundreds of posts of lecturers are lying vacant and this will affect the results of the students, he added.
He said that Director School Education was also urged by the delegation which among others included district president Doda Dr Anis Ahmed to issue the transfers of lecturers only at the termination of academic session so that the students do not suffer and demanded that this was the right time to make the transfers in the Winter zones of the province.
The Director assured the delegation that the genuine demands will be looked into.
The meeting also lauded the role of Director Education, Mrs Dev Lata for quick disposal of various vital files.
Mr Jamwal demanded immediate release of lists of principals, CEOs and joint directors as many educational institutions in the Jammu region are headless. He also stressed on re-organization of Education Department and upgradation of higher secondary schools to the level of intermediate colleges.
He also demanded issuance of orders for 40 percent college quota benefits of running patterns, incentives for highly qualified + 2 lecturers, grade pay of Principals and non vocational status in favour of principals of Higher Secondary Schools be issued on priority basis.
Charan Dass, Tarseem Singh, Ashwani Sharma, U K Khajuria, Pardeep Singh Rakwal, Dr Jyoti, Ghar Singh, O P Katoch, S Paramjeet Singh were among others who addressed the meeting.
