Sincere coalition better than opportunistic single party rule: Hakeem

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Jan 23: Cautio-ning people of the State about double standard of some opportunistic political parties,  chairman PDF, Hakeem Yaseen has said that these parties always betrayed mandadate of the people for their chair after getting   overwhelming majority in the elections.
In a statement issued here, today Hakeem Yaseen said that these parties are nowadays ferociously advocating for single party rule in the State notwithstanding the fact that they always  betrayed people’s sincere  massive mandate and eroded State’s autonomy by bringing amendments in the Constitution from time to time to appease their mentors at the Center.
“They are the people who fiddled with Article 370, which guarantees special status to the State and brought most of the draconian laws in the State whenever they enjoyed absolute majority in the Assembly.  “Nowadays they are again advocating for single party rule forgetting that they have always taken undue benefit of brute majority and played with the urges and aspirations of innocent people of the State for satiating their power lust.  He said at Center, these parties are working for grand alliance while they are propagating for single party at the State level which exposes their sheer hypocrisy and  double speak to again hoodwink people’s opinion in the forth coming elections.
He said under the given  circumstances,  a sincere coalition Government in the State can be a best option to protect interests of the people of all the three regions of the State history as the  single party governments in past have  arbitrarily played against the overall  interests of  the State which suggest that a strong opposition in the form of a sincere coalition Government can deliver better and safeguard well the interests of the people.
Hakeem Yaseen said that some coalition Governments in past, like in 1984 and 2002, have proved very beneficial and their good performance and people friendly measures are still being applauded by the people. In fact some political parties are still getting advantage of good reputation of these coalition Governments, Hakeem Yaseen maintained.
