Three killed in road accidents

JAMMU, Jan 27: Three persons were killed in separate road accidents on city outskirts.
According to a police official, a speeding mini-bus yesterday hit a bike and seriously injured its rider namely Saudagar Mal (55) son of Munshi Ram, resident of Arnia. He said the injured man was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
Another mishap occurred last night at Ahnoor, where a speeding bike got slipped. In the mishap, bike rider, Rohit Sharma (22) son of Banarsi Dass, resident of Nai Basti (Jammu) sustained serious head injury. He was immediately taken to GMCH Jammu where doctors declared him as brought dead. Today, after postmortem both the dead bodies were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites while the concerned police had registered cases in both cases and started investigations.
Meanwhile, a 6-year-old child namely Aziq son of Sehraz Ahmed, resident of Shopian and at present Sunjuwan (Jammu), was today hit by a car at Bhatindi. He was rushed to GMCH but declared dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the Hospital while concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
