JAMMU, Jan 27: Different educational institutions have celebrated the 70th Republic Day with great enthusiasm.
The 70th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh.
Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Director IIM Sirmaur, received the guard of honour on this occasion and unfurled the National Flag.
In her address, Prof. Rohmetra impressed upon the element of being dutiful and committed to the responsibilities as free citizens of the country. She talked about how these celebrations are a reminder of our duties towards the country.
Prof. Rohmetra also emphasized on the role of positivity in accomplishment of goals and dreams at individual and institutional levels. Later, the students presented a cultural programme on the theme of patriotism.
The function was attended by the staff, faculty and the students. The day also saw the students of IIM Sirmaur sharing the happiness of the occasion with underprivileged children in near vicinity.
SKUAST-J celebrated the 70th Republic Day and the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Pardeep K Sharma hoisted the National Flag at Chatha Campus of the varsity. President Teaching, Dr. Vikas Sharma, President Non-Teaching, P.D.K Uppal and others were also present on this occasion.

The Central University of Jammu celebrated 70th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at its Campus in Rahya Suchani, Samba and Vice Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima unfurled the National Flag.
The Republic Day was celebrated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University where the National Flag was unfurled by Prof. V. Verma.
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated the Republic Day with patriotic fervour and gaiety and Prof Iqbal Parwez, Dean Academic Affairs unfurled the National Flag.
Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal at Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur, Bantalab where Moti Koul, President Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK), Principal of the College and prominent persons from the locality and others unfurled the National Flag.
Dogra Group of Colleges including Dogra Law College, Dogra College of Education and Dogra Degree College celebrated 70th Republic Day at Bari Brahmana Campus with patriotic fervour. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust hoisted the National Flag.
Tech Mahindra Smart Academy for Healthcare, Mohali, the CSR wing of Tech Mahindra Limited celebrated Republic Day with fervour and Lt Gen B.S Jaswal (Retired), former Army Commander, Northern Command unfurled the National Flag.
Modern Montessori International Preschool Jammu celebrated the Republic Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. A lively programme was organized on the occasion. The programme started with the speech of the Principal, Pragya Gupta highlighting the importance of Republic Day. The students of Pre-Nursery dressed as Army, Navy and Air Force personnel presented march-past. It was followed by National Flag hoisting by the Directors of the School, Ms. Bhavna Rohmetra and Ms. Sapna Rohmetra. National Anthem was sung and was followed by dance by Play Group A&B on the song ‘Nana Muna Rahi…’
The children of Play Group came dressed up as different Freedom Fighters. Children from Pre-Nursery B & Nursery performed on songs-‘It happens Only in India & India Wale’. Tri-coloured food from home was served on the occasion.
Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua joined the Republic Day celebrations at District Sports Stadium, Kathua and won many prizes for good performances in the programmes there.
