JAMMU, Jan 28: BJP National vice-president & J&K Prabhari, Avinash Rai Khanna today said that the people of Jammu & Kashmir who are laying down their lives for the cause of nation are the real heroes and their exemplary valour is indicative of their commitment towards the nation and also a blow to those who are of the misconception that a Kashmiri can be misled and pushed to join a proxy war against India.
“Such brave men leave behind a path which gives inspiration to others to be strong and defeat the anti-India forces even at the cost of life. Such people achieve martyrdom, bring honour for their families and write history. They become icons for the youth in particular, who may get misled and trapped into the hands of such forces which pose threat to the unity and integrity of the country,” he said.
Avinash Rai Khanna, while saluting the great sacrifice of Lance Naik Nazir Ahmed Wani, who has been honoured with Ashok Chakra posthumously by the Government of India for laying down his life in a counter terrorist operation in Valley, said that Wani surrendered as a militant and joined the mainstream to serve the motherland as he did not want Bharat Maa to bleed by the killings of innocent people. He said that taking on gun to unleash terror and then throwing down same to pick other for the noble cause of serving motherland and protecting its citizens from the enemy bullets is an extraordinary example set by Nazir Ahmed Wani and the youth of the State, Kashmir valley in particular, should accept him as their icon and take pledge to defeat the nefarious designs of those forces who are hell bent to cause loss of lives and property in this border state.
Avinash Rai Khanna said that the nation would remember Lance Naik Nazir Ahmed Wani as a patriot who chose to serve the nation instead of continuing to follow the dictates against own motherland.
