POONCH, Jan 28: The people from Harni and adjoining areas of Mendhar held protest against the PHE authorities for the water scarcity and blocked road for over an hour at Harni town today.

A large number of villagers from Harni and Gluta assembled at main bazaar Harni at around 11 am. The protest was lead by president Kissan Mazdoor Union Mendhar, Majid Khan. The protesting people were shouting slogans against the PHE authorities for their failure to provide adequate supply of water to the area.
Khan alleged that water pipes were broken and not repaired since long and water supply to many localities was snapped for the last several weeks. He appealed the Deputy Commissioner, Poonch and SDM Mendhar to look into the matter and ensure water supply to the people of this area.
