Addressing a press conference at PCC headquarters here today, PCC chief said that party president Rahul Gandhi on Monday announced that if Congress comes to power in coming Lok Sabha elections, his Govt will implement minimum income guarantee programme which will be a great revolutionary step. He said till now, several schemes like MGNREGA, having 100 days job guarantee to the poor people and Food Security Act were implemented by the previous UPA Govt for the welfare of the poor people in the country. But this new scheme will provide a minimum guaranteed income to the families whether they go for work or not, live in rural area, urban or semi-urban locality, they will be benefited irrespective of caste, creed or religion, Mir maintained.
Mir said the state like J&K which is backward in many ways will be benefitted a lot if this scheme is implemented. He congratulated AICC president and party high command for coming out with such a great move for the benefit of the people of this country. He said PCC fully supports this move and extend gratitude to the party high command. He said with the joining of active politics by Priyanka Gandhi the party would further receive momentum. It has already shown good performance in some states during recent Assembly elections and a new trend has already been set in motion.

PCC Chief charged the Modi Govt for the failure to fulfill the tall promises made during 2014 elections and the people now realize that they have been befooled and exploited on different slogans which turned out to be false. He said Prime Minister Modi does not talk now of black money which he had to bring back in 100 days and deposit in the account of every citizen at the rate of Rs 15 lakhs. Where are two crore jobs every year, promised by him, he questioned. The people have to face unprecedented hike and multiple forms of Tax, Mir added.

Mir blamed BJP of total betrayal with the people after getting huge mandate in the last elections. The people should teach the BJP a lesson for seeking huge mandate on falsehood and sheer exploitation of the sentiments of the people.
He said that the entry of Priyanka Gandhi in active politics has unnerved the BJP which is evident from cheap narratives of the several senior BJP leaders, against her. She has every right to be politics being from political family having great contribution for the country including two members martyred for the nation.

Former MP Madan Lal Sharma lashed out at the BJP for its total surrender for the sake of power and compromised on the commitments made to the people, to seek mandate. He said real face of BJP is totally exposed, as it is most power hungry party. The people will not forgive BJP in the coming elections in the state, he added.
