JAMMU, Jan 30: In a programme organised in Ward No. 3 by BJP Mahila Morcha Ward President, Sonia Arora and attended by District President Rekha Mahajan, District General Secretary and others various welfare schemes launched by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi Government during the last four and half years were discussed.
Morcha leader Rekha Mahajan chaired this meeting and said that it has happened for the first time in the history of the country that a Government at the centre has displayed its commitment for the socio-economic upliftment of women.
She said that these schemes have not remained confined to the major cities and towns but extended to remote and far flung areas, covering entire population of the women.
Rekha Mahajan said that be it providing free gas connections under Ujjwala Yojana or construction of toilets for women, the targeted beneficiaries have been women.
“Similarly, the nationwide campaign to promote female child birth and educate them to stand on their own under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ programme is to ensure honour and dignity of the women,” she said adding that Mudra Bank scheme too has proved beneficial for the women.
