JAMMU, Feb 2: The Building Operation Controlling Authority (BOCA) meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Pankaj Magotra, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), wherein 42 residential building permission cases were approved.
Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta presided over the meeting, which was also attended by the line departments. The cases cleared in the BOCA would generate revenue for the JMC apart from bringing succor to the applicants who had long awaited the said permission.
The JMC Commissioner stated that JMC shall convene BOCA meetings regularly so that more and more building permission are granted under norms and pendency in this regard reduced. The Commissioner also advised the general public to refrain from raising construction illegally/un-authorizedly and obtain proper building permission from JMC before undertaking construction for their houses/commercial establishments, as such constructions are liable for legal action including sealing, demolition etc.
He also advised the persons to whom building permission stands granted to approach JMC for clearing ‘mulba’ (debris) at reasonable rates.
Joint Commissioner (A) JMC, Assistant Commissioner (Nazool) Jammu, Senior Town Planner, Town Planning Organization, Senior Town Planner, JMC AEE, Inspection Division PDD, Jammu, AEE (Tech Officer) Sewerage & Drainage, Jammu, AEE (Tech Officer) PHE City Division II, Jammu, AE PHE City Division I, Jammu and AE PHE Rural, Jammu also attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the enforcement staff of JMC took out an anti-encroachment drive during which the team demolished the shuttering of ongoing illegal construction work at last morh, Gandhi Nagar. In Gumat, Indra Chowk, Bus Stand, Jewel and Residency Road areas, articles placed outside the shops and establishments of the shopkeepers were removed. Besides this, five illegal rehries were lifted from Bus Stand area as those were creating traffic hazards.
