Various social organizations, NGOs support APMCC’s agitation

PORBANDAR (Gujarat), Feb 6: Members of business, social, religious, non-Governmental, and community organisations today came out with open support to Vinod Pandit’s fast unto death by presenting written support letters to All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) and called on the district collector to submit a memorandum on their behalf in support of the agitation.
Even as the fast unto death of Vinod Pandit entered 8th day today around 40 leading business, social, religious, non-governmental, and community organisation leaders met APMCC representatives today and presented their written support letters to them pledging their full support and help in making the ongoing agitation a success.
They also criticized the callousness of J&K and Central Government towards the plight of Pandits who have been forced to flee from Kashmir by Pak trained militants and Government till date has failed to rehabilitate them and solve their demands.
Around 40 leaders of Chamber, Arya Samaj, Kharwa Samaj, and other leading organisations later accompanied King C Bharati, the national spokesperson of APMCC to Porbandar collector and district magistrate Jayant Kumar Sewak and submitted a memorandum on behalf of the all residents of Porbandar asking him to convey their concern to the President of India, Prime Minister of India and J&K chief Minister to immediately initiate dialogue with APMCC and resolve the crisis.
Meanwhile, KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri left for Porbandar this evening to take part in the agitation. He appealed the nationalist forces all over country to come in support of exiled KPs who have been deprived of their rights due to callousness of Government.
Besides All India Kashmiri Samaj has also extended its full support to APMCC’s present struggle. In a statement issued here today AIKS said that the extreme step taken by the community is a manifestation of neglect and irrelevance towards displaced community.
AIKS general secretary, Dr Ramesh Raina said AIKS is concerned about the health of Pandita and State as well as Central Government will be responsible in case his physical condition deteriorated. AIKS which held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Moti Koul today said BJP is supporting the movement which has infused a new energy in it.
