PHEEA defers ‘Kaam Choro Hartal’

UDHAMPUR, Feb 3: Water Works PHE Employees’ Association (PHEEA) has deferred its ‘Kaam Choro Hartal’ scheduled on February 4 and 5.
This was announced today by Som Nath, senior vice-president, PHEEA, Jammu province, while addressing a press conference along with office bearers.
He said that the decision was taken by the office bearers unanimously after the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur wrote a letter to Finance Commissioner, Chief Engineer, PHE Department, Jammu and Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle, Udhampur for clearing pending wages of the employees.
On January 29, the Association staged massive protest at PHE Complex, Udhampur highlighting their demands like release of pending wages, meeting shortage of staff in the department, holding DPC meeting as early as possible, change of designation of workers as per nature of working and implementation of SRO 520.
Som Nath urged the authorities to consider their other demands also.
Other association leaders present were Vijay Kumar Sharma, Chuni Lal, Shamsher Singh, Amit Dubey, Vidya Ram, Makhan Chand, Dinesh Kesar and Prem.
