J&K witnessing new era of development: Gupta

JAMMU, Feb 4: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta, reiterated his commitment to ensure overall development of the State. Gupta said this after kick starting the work of the lane up-gradation in Ashok Nagar Nai Basti, Ward – 23, to be executed at the estimated cost of Rs 5.25 lakh by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and starting the laying of water pipe line work in the area to be executed by P.H.E.
Highlighting the development initiatives taken by him as a representative of the constituency, he said that several upgradation and renovation projects have been started in the constituency during the last three years. He said that delivering good governance with pragmatic approach at the doorsteps of the people is his top priority. On being apprised of the problems pertaining to damaged roads, water supply, electricity and other basic amenities and developmental needs by locals of the area of Nai Basti in Gandhi Nagar constituency, he said the project of the construction of concrete drains has already been submitted to department and soon the project shall get final nod for the execution. He said the work on the remaining roads of the Ward shall be taken up by the department as works for almost all the roads have been approved, but due to weather conditions not favourable for the works, it was not executed.
He said works for deep drains at different places of Gandhi Nagar Constituency have been approved and the work is under process. Gupta assured them that their other genuine concerns would be looked into on priority and said that he will take up matter with concerned officials to take adequate measures to mitigate the problems of the locals in a time bound manner. He further said the Government is making all out efforts to fulfil the demands of the people, with special focus on providing all basic amenities to the residents of his Constituency with the agenda of equitable development.
