JAMMU, Feb 5: A meeting of J&K Civil Secretariat Coordination Committee (JKCSCC) was held under the chairmanship of its President Ghulam Rasool Mir.
Issue concerning employees and assurance given by the Chief Secretary during a meeting with Coordination Committee on Dec 24, 2018 were discussed.
Speakers in the meeting said while the Chief Secretary has agreed that all issues projected by the Coordination Committee shall be addressed within 15 days but nothing concrete step has been done in this regard.
President JKCSCC informed the meeting that GAD is going for diversion of slots meant for promotees to Junior Scale KAS officers which is totally violation of Supreme Court judgement.
Speakers in the meeting asked the Govt to notify the available slots prior to making any inductions into KAS cadre besides restoring the slots to address their grievance.
They said that Chief Secretary has assured them to restore the slots diverted earlier to direct recruits and added that some officers are delaying the issue either to hide their mistakes or to favour a particular service.
Speakers in the meeting demanded that the Government should take necessary steps for bridging the gap of 228 slots by allotting all the slots available with GAD and Establishment Committee constituted by the Government for the purpose.
The Coordination Committee gave a call for strike in case the Government fails to provide any response for immediate settlement of the pending issues.
President LGEU, Maqbool Hussain, President Assembly Secretariat, Mukhtiyar Ahmad, President J&K NGSEA, Parvaiz Ahmad Khan including large number of Gazetted Officers were present in the meeting.
