SAMBA, Feb 5: Bari Brahmana police has arrested a notorious criminal, Mohd Irshad alias Shadu S/o Mohd Saleem, R/o W.No. 6, Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana, district Samba and slapped Public Safety Act (PSA) on him as he has become a threat to the peace in the area.
In order to curtail the activities of this hardcore criminal who was involved in number of criminal activities and is a great threat to the life and liberty of the people of district, Samba particularly Bari Brahmana area, a special team of P/S Bari Brahmana under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba and under the supervision of Sunil Kesar, SDPO Bari Brahmana headed by Inspector, Darshan Singh, SHO P/S Bari Brahmana was constituted and the arrest of the said accused person was affected.
Police said Irshad is a habitual criminal and his activities are prejudicial to the maintenance of law and order. The motive of the criminal was not only to create terror among the peaceful and law abiding citizens of the town but also to form biggest criminal gang by encouraging criminal minded persons to join gang. His criminal activities were posing great threat to the public peace and tranquility, police said, adding, he is involved in a number of heinous cases registered against him at PS Bari Brahmana/ Vijaypur and in district Jammu.
He is involved in FIR No 98/2010 U/S 458/336/323/34 RPC of PS Bari Brahmana, FIR No. 67/2012 U/S 341/382/323 RPC of PS Bari Brahmana, FIR No. 135/2012 U/S 452/323/ 147/148 RPC of PS Vijaypur, FIR No. 27/2013 U/ S 307/452/ 323/34 RPC, 4/25/30 Arms Act of PS Bari Brahmana, FIR No. 122/2015 U/S 452/354 RPC of PS Bari Brahmana, FIR No. 51/2016 U/S 376/342/323/RPC of PS Channi Himmat, Jammu , FIR No. 186/2017 U/S 452/323/34 RPC of PS Bari Brahmana, FIR No. 23/2018 U/S 454/380 RPC of PS Bahu Fort, Jammu, FIR No. 128/2018 U/S 4/25 Arms Act of PS Bari Brahmana, police revealed.
The warrant of arrest under detention in PSA was issued by DM Samba against him. The accused was absconding and was evading his arrest since the issuance of his warrant. For the apprehension of the accused, teams were constituted many times but he remained successful in giving slip to Police parties. The accused was finally arrested by P/S Bari Brahmana on 02/02/2019 and lodged at Sub-Jail Hiranagar.
