JAMMU, Feb 5: A team of State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) today seized 12 tonnes of banned polythene carry bags from Gangyal area.
A senior official said that a team of the SPCB under the supervision of Chairman, SPCB Ravi Kesar organised an operation in Gangyal area on a specific information and seized 12 tonnes of polythene carry bags (below 50 microns) from an industrial unit, M/s NV Enterprises.
The team was led by Arshed Ahmed, JEE and assisted by other staff. It was biggest cache of banned polythene bags in Jammu so far, a senior SPCB official said.
