KPs take out candle march in Jagti, protest in Delhi in support of APMCC demands

JAMMU, Feb 7: A candle light procession was taken by activists of All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) at Jagti township today in support of Vinod Pandit, chairman of the organization who is sitting on fast unto death at Porbandar Gujarat for last nine days in support of six point charter of demands of Kashmiri Pandits.
The activists of KP organizations took part into the candle light procession. The procession started from Mata Khir Bhawani Mandir Jagti and after passing through the various streets of the township it culminated at the Lane Number 1.
The protestors raising slogans in support of APMCC demands warned to intensify agitation in case State Government continues its rigid stand on the demands of exiled Pandits which besides opening of Sharda University in J&K is demanding permission to world famous Sharda Shrine pilgrimage for Hindus from the state, passage of shrines and temples Bill, implementation of PM’s employment package, special package for Pandita putting up in Valley, probe into encroachment of temples and shrines land in Valley, one time assistance for overaged youth.
Addressing the demonstrators Omlaj appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to hold a dialogue with APMCC leaders and settle the demands of the displaced Pandits. Manoj Kaul, Sunil Pandita, Subash Zutshi, M K Bhat and others took part in the march.
Another demonstration was held at Jantar Mantar New Delhi by activists of APMCC in support of Mr Pandita today. The protestors warned to launch a nation wide movement with support of civil society of India to seek justice for the displaced Kashmiri Pandits leading an exiled life for last 23 years.
Meanwhile Vinod Pandita’s fast entered in 9th day today and various organisations of Porbandar have warned total shut down in the coastal city on February 9 in case the Government failed to settle the demands as put forth by APMCC, said King C Bharti national spokesperson of the organization.
