Drug peddler arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Feb 7: Narwal police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Narwal Police Post laid a naka near Rajeev Nagar and intercepted a Maruti Van bearing registration number JK02M-7309.
During checking, police recovered 1.50 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested one person, who has been identified as Rehmat Ali, son of Siraj Din, a resident of Barian Sambyalpur District Samba.
A case under FIR Number 37/19 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Narwal Police Post SI Vikas Hans made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Parvez Sajjad, SDPO East Vipan Chandran, SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
