NC now eyeing PSA for political survival: BJP

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Feb 7: Having failed to keep its promise on 35A of not contesting elections of ULBs and Panchayats till this section continues in the State, National Conference (NC) is now hoping to survive by raking up the issue of PSA on giving false assurance to the people.
The political bankruptcy of National Conference (NC) can be well judged from the recent development, wherein former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, started playing the emotional card by making promise to repeal PSA, if voted to power. This is one more attempt to hoodwink the people of Kashmir, whom NC has always taken for granted and exploited for vote bank politics.
The State unit of BJP is of the view that the NC, which failed to keep its earlier promise of not contesting elections till 35A exists in the State, is desperately advocating for early elections and trying to use PSA as a plank to seek mandate of the people.
BJP State spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, while sharing fact that PSA has not been introduced recently in the State but it was very much there when Omar Abdullah himself was the Chief Minister and never uttered a word to oppose its existence.
