JAMMU, Feb 9: Failure of the Government schools in Pakistan has made madrasas absorbing children and radicalizing them. This could destabilize peace and stability in India-Pakistan relation.
This was stated by Tilak Devasher, Member of National Security Council and Former Special Secretary on Cabinet Secretariat during a seminar at Central University of Jammu on Saturday.
“Radical anti-India groups in Pakistan are slowly entering into the electoral process in Pakistan. Such a combination of events is dangerous to peace and stability,” he further said.
Earlier in the seminar, Prof Amitabh Mattoo from School of International Studies at JNU talked on Indus Water Treaty (IWT).
Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Kumar Saxena, Indian Commissioner for Indus Waters explained the key issues pertaining to protecting India’s water security interests and the importance of asserting our views on IWT.
Balraj Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPCL explained the history of IWT and focused on its futuristic vision.
Ambassador TCA Raghavan talked on Indo-Pak ties and said that opening of Kartarpur corridor is a significant diplomatic breakthrough.
Lt. Gen. Syed Ata Hasnain Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir enlightened the audience on the military perspectives on the Indo-Pakistan relations.
