NEW DELHI, Feb 9: Indian Railways has taken up ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ in a big way and all the trains in the country will be provided with bio-toilets which will give a major boost to the cleanliness drive and give passengers satisfaction and happiness in their journey.
This was disclosed by Rajesh Agarwal, Member Rolling Stock, Railway Board and Ex-officio Secretary to Govt of India while inaugurating Exporail India 2019- International Exhibition for Railway Technology, Equipment & Services.
The mega Rail event was organized on February 8 and 9, 2019 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, with the support of Ministry of Railways.
“Technology, R&D, innovation and passenger delight have been the focus issues before Indian Railways today,” said Mr Agarwal.
He added that Railways is moving towards achieving high standards of the passengers of the largest democracy of the world with dedication and commitment.
Vande Bharat Express ” Train 18 ” – India’s first semi-high speed train equipped with world class passenger amenities, which will run between Delhi and Varanasi at a maximum speed of 160 kmph is expected to be dedicated to the nation on February 15, 2019. Additional 12 Vande Bharat Express trains are also planned to be introduced across the country by next year.
In the exporail, various dimensions of Indian Railway’s technical developments, construction capabilities, Research & Development, infrastructure development, safety , operations and allied fields of passengers’ paradise have been showcased. Visitors will also get to know agenda ahead for Indian Railways Industry to provide world class services to the largest democracy of the world.
