Sarv Bhasha Trust organizes book release function, award ceremony

JAMMU, Feb 9: Sarv Bhasha Trust, New Delhi organized a book release function and Swami Brahmanand Teerath Dogri Sahitya Samman 2018 function in a simple but impressive event at K L Saigal Hall, Jammu, here today.
In this function, Dr Drakshan Andrabi, Chairperson, Central Waqf Development Committee, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt of India, was the chief guest. Prof Archana Kesar, Ex HoD Dogri and Ex Dean Jammu University, presided over the event while Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Secretary Kala Kender Society and Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, was the special guest.
After the book entitled “Aslivaris “, written by Raj Rahi and translated in Hindi by Yashpaul Nirmal was released, three research and critical papers were presented by Dr Neeru Sharma, Dr Sapna Devi and Ashu Sharma.
Dr Keshav Mohan Pandey, organizer Sarv Bhasha Trust and Dr Manoj Tiwari, senior vice president Sarv Bhasha Trust, were awarded with the first Yash Sharma Smriti Samman 2019.
Besides, 14 Dogri writers were awarded with the “Swami Brahmanand Teerath Dogri Sahitya Samman 2018 “for their first book in Dogri. The writers who were awarded with the samman were O P Shakir, Neeru Sharma, Kewal Kumar Kewal, Ratan Bhardwaj, Ashu Sharma, Kuldeep Raj Shastri, Sunil Kumar, Om Jindreadi, Satpal Ghadwalia, Rajeshwar Singh Raju, K Saroj Bala, Roshan Bral Roshan and Ganga Sharma.
Earlier, Yash Paul Nirmal presented a welcome address. Stage was conducted by Roshan Bral Roshan and vote of thanks was presented by Kewal Kumar Kewal.
