KPC for carving out homeland, Kashap State for Pandits within Valley

NEW DELHI, Feb 9: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) while terming the Government decision of granting Divisional status to Ladakh region a step in right direction to end the decades old discrimination with the region has made an appeal to Union as well as State Government to address the long pending demand of Kashmiri Pandits of carving out a separate homeland or Kashap State within Valley for their honourable and dignified rehabilitation.
KPC chief, Kundan Kashmiri said that the settlement of Pandits in Valley without carving out a separate homeland as per Margdarshan resolution and as per aspirations of the community is not possible. He said the Government can on the analogy of granting a separate division for Ladakh can also take a decision regarding carving out of Kashap State or separate homeland within Valley with UT status for rehabilitation of seven lakh displaced Pandits.
