Sweet shop catches fire in Ghagwal

SAMBA, Feb 9: A sweet shop caught fire at Ghagwal near here, today resulting into heavy loss to shopkeeper. The cause of fire is stated to be leakage in gas cylinder and panic gripped in entire Ghagwal market and all shopkeepers and people ran towards the shop to put off the fire.
The fire broke out around 10.30 am this morning in the shop due to leakage of gas from a LPG cylinder. The people who reached on the spot poured water on the fire with the buckets to prevent it from spreading in surrounding shops. With their strenuous efforts people managed to control the fire after half an hour. The fire tender and the police also reached the spot after receiving the information. The shopkeeper informed the police that the gas cylinder caught the fire. There was a lot of damage in the shop. In charge of the Police Station, Rajiv Bhagat said that soon after receiving the information the fire tender was put into service to doze the fire.
He said the police has taken the cognizance of the matter and further action will be taken after investigation.
