Cardamom rises by 0.34% on strong demand

NEW DELHI, Feb 8: Cardamom prices rose by Rs 3.50 to Rs 1,014.30 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators created fresh positions on rising demand in the spot markets.
Sentiment improved further on firm demand against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February rose by Rs 3.50, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 1,014.30 per kg in a business turnover of 398 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in March moved up by Rs 3.30, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 1,053 per kg in 271 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators and firming trend at spot market on pick-up in export demand mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
