The LAHDC delegation which met recently UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi raised the issue of Kailash Mansarover yatra with her. The people of Ladakh had raised this demand earlier also but the successive Central Governments did not pay much attention to it for reasons known to them.
The opening of Kailash Mansarover yatra will play an important role in the socio-political development of the region. The tourism sector will also receive a great thrust. The opening of Kailash yatra will generate many job opportunities in the region as there is great scope in promoting local handicrafts and local apricot industry. The opening of route through Ladakh region will be really prove a boon for the people.
