KATHUA, Feb 9: Property worth over Rs 3.50 lakh was destroyed after a Karyana shop was gutted in Kot Punnu area of district Kathua this morning.
The incident took place at around 6 am today when the shop was closed and the owner was at home. Some locals noticed the smoke coming out from the shop and informed its owner Waryam Chand of Slalpur village. When he reached there the entire shop had already reduced to ashes. He put the loss of property at around Rs 3.50 lakh. The police registered a case. Short circuit was believed to be the reason behind the incident.
