MLC calls on Advisor

JAMMU, Feb 21: A delegation of BJP from Tangdar Karnah met KK Sharma, Advisor to Governor.
GL Raina MLC and Vice President BJP J&K was leading the delegation that included Samudar Sheikh and Parvez Ahmad from Kandi Karnah.
The delegation brought into the notice of the Advisor the continuous closure of the only road link connecting Tangdar Karnah with rest of the country due to heavy snowfall, which has resulted into acute shortage of essential commodities like vegetables, LPG cylinders, indispensible medicines, baby food and other eatables.
The delegation said that closure also plays havoc with the population of area psychologically and people particularly poor sections of the society are facing tremendous difficulties in these hard times.
The delegation appealed the Administration to make alternate arrangements for augmenting supplies of essential items through alternate mechanism like airlifting vital commodities.
“Vehicles loaded with passengers and essential commodities have got stuck en-route to Karnah at different places resulting into the wastage of the material worth lakhs. These vehicles need to be helped reach destination on priority basis. Dead bodies were to be carried on shoulder on foot for around 30 KMs covered with heavy snow,” the delegation expressed.
The delegation further said that that the road blockade for several weeks has also denied the youth of the area in availing opportunity to appear in recruitment drives in Army, Police and Fire Services.
The Advisor listened to the issues raised by the BJP delegation with intense interest and expressed pain over the difficulties faced by people of remote areas. He instantly instructed Divisional Commissioner and concerned secretaries to arrange relief without any delay.
