Singh further said that BJP is opposing simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in J&K citing security reasons but actually this is a frivolous excuse for vested political reasons.
“Scared to face the people in the wake of its multiple betrayals with Jammu cause, it preferred extension of Presidents rule and continuation of its proxy rule in the State,” said Singh while addressing a press conference here today.
He said that any delay to conduct Assembly elections would not only amount to subversion of democracy but will also violate the orders of Supreme Court.
“The people could not be deprived of their democratic rights in the State only for the political inexpediencies of the ruling party at the Centre by taking the plea of security related issues,” Singh told reporters.
Parshotam Parihar, State Secretary Panthers Trade Union was also present in the press conference.
