KATHUA, Feb 22: The ex-MLA of Hiranagar Constituency, Prem Lal, has appealed Governor S P Malik to provide the facilities of mini-secretariat at Hiranagar.
Prem Lal said that for minor works, people of Kathua have to travel to Jammu and make rounds of various Government offices. He said in this process, a lot of time and money of the people went waste which may be saved by providing facilities of mini-secretariat at Hiranagar, where all the Government offices will be under one roof.
He also batted for establishment of a Trauma Hospital at Chadwal as every now and then many people lose their lives in road accidents occurred on National Highway due to lack of any Trauma Hospital nearby. He also urged the Governor to start issuing Dogra certificates to the local youth for preferential benefits in Army recruitment.
The ex-MLA also urged the Governor to remove discriminative policy for recruitment of the youth from Kathua district in Armed forces, as eligibility of recruitment in Army in Kathua district is matric with 45% marks whereas in other parts of the State, it is simple matric. He also demanded that special recruitment rallies of Army/paramilitary forces be conducted in border areas of Kathua as unemployment is increasing fast in these areas.
