LEH, Feb 24: Two month long Bhoti language free coaching conducted by Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), Women Wing concluded at Atisha Hall, Zangsti here.
As many as 100 participants including students, kids, house Wives and elders attended the coaching camp conducted to promote Bhoti language and get due recognition in the 8th schedule of Indian Constitution.
Bhoti teachers Tsewang Dorjay Chakzot and Jigmet Paldan rendered their service to impart teaching to the participants.
The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Language Culture Officer Dr Thupstan Nurbo was chief guest on the valedictory function while LGA president Shetup Chamba was guest of honour. Appreciating LBA for conducting such free coaching Dr Thupstan said that language is one of the most important components of individual identity which must be learn at any cost. He stressed upon giving more preference to Bhoti language than any other languages like Hindi or English and added that one having Bhoti language can express their views in a better ways.
“Seeing elders learning Bhoti language at this age young student should realise how important our language is” said Dr Thupstan while advising them to learn Bhoti language at right age.
Mentioning about importance of Bhoti language LGA president said that there is no end to learning and one must learn Bhoti to understand the Buddhism in better way.
LBA vice president Rinchen Namgyal said that LBA endeavour to promote Bhoti language in Ladakh through such free coaching camps that had been organising for the past six years. He added that LBA also provides such coaching camps in Jammu, Chandigarh etc where student have shown keen interest in learning.
Assuring to organize such free coaching camps in future LBA Women Wing president Rinchen Angmo said that language is the regional identity of all people following different faith.
LBA Youth Wing president Konchok Ishey Stak, teachers Tsewang Dorjay and Paldan Jigmet also spoke on the occasion.
Later both teachers were felicitated with traditional Khatask to express gratitude for their service all participants were given certificates.
