JAMMU, Feb 26: On the advice of National Commission for Women, the State Government has impressed upon all the Deputy Commissioners and Heads of the Departments to constitute Local Complaint Committee (LCC) at District level under Sexual Harassment of Women at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and redressal) Act, 2003.
These committees shall be constituted in terms of Section 6 of the Sexual Harassment Act, according to which the District officer shall designate one nodal officer in every block, Taluka and tehsil in rural or tribal area and ward of municipality in urban area, to receive complaints and forward the same to the concerned local Competent Committee within a period of seven days.
