Since the creation of the universe music has remained part of life of the people. About fifteen centuries back, when Prophet Mohammad entered Madina Sharif, people along with girls welcomed Him with songs (Nats) playing on musical instrument of that time called “DAF.” Prophet was pleased with this type of reception. Lord-Krishna has also played on flute. Many saintly persons have been pleased with “Sama,” Qwali.
With the advancement in every field, new musical instruments have been invented. It has been observed singing men and women in one way or the other from the very beginning, especially at the occasion of birth of child, marriages, while working in the field, transplantation, weeding, harvesting of crops and grasses and foliage in groups. Some play drums and flute also.
It has been scientifically proved that in presence of music growth of plants increases. All the birds, even animals have been singing in their own way. When smooth wind blows in gardens and forest, it creates charming sound. It means music by nature is a part of life for every living thing, then what to speak of human beings. It even heals patients.
