49 pc pass HSS Part-II exams

JAMMU, May 7: Girls had a very slight edge over boys in the Higher Second Part-II (Class 12th) results, which were declared today by the State Board of School Education. Out of a total of 49 top slots in three streams of Science, Commerce and Arts, girls bagged 27 positions and boys 22.
Pass percentage in the examinations stood at 49—52 for girls and 46 for boys, according to Dr Javed Khatib, Joint Secretary, Secrecy.
Out of 36088 candidates appearing in the exam, 17541 got through.
Ten positions in Science faculty were shared by 25 students including 14 girls and 11 boys while 10 top spots of Arts were bagged by 11 students—six girls and five boys. Ten positions of Commerce were shared by 13 students—seven girls and six boys.
The prestigious first position of Science faculty was shared by Kiran Anand of Government Girls Higher Secondary School (HSS), Mubarak Mandi and Rishabh Kaul of RS Jagriti Niketan HSS Kathua by securing 485 marks out of 500 (97 per cent)
Vaibhav Bhat of SP Higher Secondary School, Exchange Road got second position with 484 marks (96.8 per cent). Three students shared third position with 483 marks (96.6 per cent). They are Gagandeep Singh and Rupali Saini of Shiksha Niketan HSS, Jeevan Nagar and Parul Khajuria of St Xavier Convent HSS, Barnai.
Mimansha Choudhary of Government Girls HSS, Mubarak Mandi topped in Arts faculty securing 487 marks (97.4 per cent). She was followed by Karan Gupta of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public HSS Kunjwani and Garima Jasrotia of Shamsher Singh Memorial HSS, Barwal with 482 and 472 marks (96.4 per cent and 94.4 per cent respectively).
Rashpal Singh of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public HSS Kunjwani bagged first position in Commerce securing 469 marks (93.8 per cent) while Hitesh Mahajan clinched second slot for Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar with 463 marks (92.6 per cent).
Najma Choudhary of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar and Shradha Koul of Shastri Memorial HSS Rehari, Patoli shared third position in Commerce bagging 461 marks (92.2 per cent).
Fourth position in Faculty of Science was shared by three students—Druvika Pandita of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS, Talab Tillo, Hardeep Singh of RS Jagriti Niketan HSS Kathua and Siddhant Karan of Model Academy, BC Road, all of whom had 481 marks (96 per cent).
Fifth and sixth positions went to Surbhi Sharma of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar and Shubika Sethi of Government Girls HSS Samba with 480 and 479 marks (96 per cent and 95. 8 per cent respectively).
Rupali Jamwal from Vidya Peeth Public HSS, Chogan Slathian, Shubam Pangotra of DBN Vidya Mandi HSS, Canal Road and Tahir Hafiz of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar shared seventh slot of Science taking 478 marks (95.6 per cent). Chahat Bakshi and Dheeraj Choudhary of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar and Satish Kumar of SRML HSS, Parade Ground shared eighth position claiming 477 marks (95.4 per cent).
Shivank Bhardwaj of RS Jagriti Niketan HSS Kathua and Shriya Sharma of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar shared ninth position taking 476 marks (95.2 per cent) while 10th position was shared by Devika Sharma of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar, Dixha Raina of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching HSS, Talab Tillo, Shiffali Kohli of Pragmatic Institute of Education HSS, Krishna Nagar, Miran Sahib and Shubham Sharma of RS Jagriti Niketan, HSS Kathua at 475 marks (95 per cent).
In Arts, Varun Sharma of Govt HSS Boys, Poonch bagged fourth position with 465 marks (93 per cent) while Mohammad Aries Parvaiz secured fifth position with 463 marks (92.6 per cent). Pardeep Singh of Government HSS Bakshi Nagar clinched sixth position at 451 marks (90.2 per cent). Vishali Devi of Shiksha Niketan HSS, Jeevan Nagar claimed seventh position taking 449 marks (89.8 per cent).
Manmeet Kour of Shiksha Niketan HSS Jeevan Nagar and Shriya of Government Girls HSS Rehari shared eighth position taking 448 marks (89.6 per cent). Ninth and 10th positions in Arts went to Isha Gupta of Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi and Chota Lal Verma of SRML HSS, Parade Ground with 446 and 443 marks (89.2 per cent and 88.6 per cent respectively).
In Faculty of Commerce, fourth position went to Arjun Chabbra of Oriental Academy, Afghan Mohalla with 459 marks (91.8 per cent while Sakshi Sharma or Oriental Academy and Supriya Bansal of Montessori Nargis Dutt, RS Pura shared fifth position taking 458 marks (91.6 per cent).
Mamta Arora of Government Girls HSS, Mubarak Mandi bagged eighth position with 453 marks (90.6 per cent) while Ujrvashi Bhat got ninth position for Government Girls HSS Rehari with 452 marks (90.4 per cent).
Mohit Nanawat of MHSDAV HSS Kathua and Sonu Singh Chouhan of Government HSS (Boys) Sarwal shared 10th position in Commerce with 451 marks (90.2 per cent).
In Home Science faculty, Pallavi Anand bagged first position for Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi taking 478 marks (95. 6 per cent). Jyoti Devi of Government Girls HSS, Shastri Nagar bagged second position with 406 marks (81.2 per cent).
Sonali Jain, Anjali Malhotra, Payal Sethi and Anmol Gupta claimed third, fourth, fifth and sixth positions with 389, 385, 373 and 364 marks (77.8 per cent, 77 per cent, 74.6 per cent and 72. 8 per cent) respectively. All of them were students of Government Girls HSS, Mubarak Mandi. Seventh position was shared by Divya Sharma of Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi and Government Girls HSS Shastri Nagar with 360 marks (72 per cent).
Gurmeet Kour of Government Girls HSS, Miran Sahib took eighth position at 359 marks (71.8 per cent) while ninth and tenth positions went to Ashima Gupta and Sneh Lata, both from Government Girls HSS Mubarak Mandi with 354 and 339 marks (70.8 per cent and 67.8 per cent respectively).
