5 injured in accident

RAMBAN, Mar 9: Five persons were injured when the Maruti car they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge at Salair near Nachlana area, falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal Police Station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK18-3869 was on its way from Banihal to Khari, when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve and the vehicle rolled down into gorge at Salair near Nachlana, resulting into injuries to five persons.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured persons were rushed to SDH Banihal from where two injured persons were referred to a hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Gul Mohammad, son of Abdul Samad, Shakeela Begum, wife of Mohammad Ayoub, Salma and Amira, daughters of Mohammad Ayoub and Aamaar, son of Mohammad Ayoub, all residents of Khari, District Ramban.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
