Smugglers held with 15 bovines

UDHAMPUR, Mar 9: Police here today rescued 15 bovine animals at Tikri area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehmbal.
Giving details, Rajiv Pandey, SSP Udhampur said, based on reliable information cops led by Sub Inspector Balram Sharma (Incharge of Police Post) Tikri laid a naka at national highway to check the vehicles.
During checking of vehicles, cops intercepted a truck bearing number UP11AT-9729 driven by Vikas Kumar son of Ramesh Chander of Islam Nagar UP.
A co-driver Noor Alam son of Sabar Ali of Talwara, Reasi was also there in the vehicle.
During checking of the vehicle cops found 15 bovine animals being transported without any permission.
All the animals were rescued and the accused driver and co-driver were arrested.
A case in FIR number 38/2019 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PC Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal in this connection and further investigations are going on.
